Chain Lightning is heading south to Orlando this weekend for the Southeast Open Club regional championships. Traditional Texas power Doublewide is no longer in the fold, but strong squads from North Carolina have been added to the region. Chain enters as the top seed after handling its Sectional tournament, while NC’s Cash Crop and Ring of Fire hold the 2nd and 3rd spots. The top two finishers will claim berths to the USAU Championships in Sarasota at the end of October.
Chain has three games Saturday, vs. Omen (FL), Freaks Uv Nature (AL), and LOS (NC).
Welcome news for ATL fans is that Nick Lance returns to the field after being noticeably missed in the past month or two.
