Rally caps in the NW

Two days down at the Emerald City Classic, Sunday play to go. The road to the quarters and Chain’s 4-2 record against a stacked field so far has been an eventful one, from a car wreck (career-ending for the rental, thankfully OK for the resilient four inside) to games on Friday when we were down to 12 or so healthy players, to a four-game winning streak leading to today’s 11am (PST) quarterfinal match vs. NC’s Ring of Fire.
Results so far:
L Rhino 9-15
L Revolver 11-15
W Furious 15-13
W Bravo 15-10
W Sockeye 16-14
W Goat 15-8
Friday night flights brought reinforcements in the form of captain Josh Ziperstein and rookie Will Lokke, and raising the men available to ~15. The 10 missing this weekend’s cross-country trip are both Hammonds, Dylan Tunnell, Grant Kirby, Jason Simpson, Frito Monforti, Russell Snow, Rob Barrett, Robert Runner, and Peter Dempsey — a substantial chunk of the roster. Sometimes, though, a smaller rotation for a tournament can lead to some gains in chemistry, assuming the guys aren’t totally exhausted.
