finally, back to a pumpkin
Finish: quarterfinals, loss to Goat 14-15
UPA Championships report

Actually, though that post title fits the Cinderella analogy, and the pumpkin is befitting for this time of year, our bowing out in the quarterfinals didn’t necessarily feel like we were crashing suddenly back down to rags status. Not many Chain players felt the 13 seed was any sort of true indicator of where our team was by season’s end, though the underdog role is a great one to assume psychologically.
Anyway, Goat beat Chain Lightning 15-14 on a final winner-take-all point to claim a semifinals berth on Saturday. The game was, obviously, extremely closely contested and in the end, one too many mistakes is what made the difference in getting back to where we wanted to be.
As for the whole tournament, Chain again played its best ultimate of the season when it mattered most, on the sport’s big stage. Now, we work for a year (and plan a bigger and better lull) just to play a little bit longer.
Pictures and game-by-game recollections to come.
