ATL juniors win YCC mixed national title
The Atlanta youth (juniors) coed team I-20 won the UPA Youth Club Championships in the mixed division this past weekend in Blaine, MN, at the National Sports Center. Chain players George Stubbs and Grant Lindsley were leaders on the field for a team that incuded several other Paideia School and other Atlanta-area high school students, and Kyle Weisbrod lent his coaching services.
The results show the team going undefeated through the tournament, culminating with a 14-12 win (article) over a squad from Philadelphia that held the lead at halftime, 8-5. The victory adds another medal to George and Grant’s parents’ increasingly-crowed mantels, which also hold last year’s World Juniors championships gold, among other hardware.
